  • Afton Apple Orchard Hayride

    Join us for a fun hayride through the apple orchard and to the pumpkin patch! You'll pick 2 apples and be able to choose your own small pumpkin about the size of a cantaloupe. Our private group tour will teach you how to pick apples, why bees are important, and what the orchard staff do to protect their trees. A small 3 oz. sample of cider will also be given. Dress for the weather. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. Plan to meet at the orchard located at 14421 S. 90th St. in Hastings. Please come early as the tour will leave promptly at 6:00 pm.   • Alice by Heart – East Ridge H.S. Musical Performance in Woodbury

    Alice by Heart is a touching musical inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer’s budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter underground where they journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland. Celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times. Our theater host will meet you inside the Activity Center entrance near a sign that says "Community Bridge Meets Here". Arrive by 6:45 p.m. to get your ticket and find a seat. Show begins at 7:00 p.m. and runs approx. 2.5 hours. NOTE: A limited number of wheelchair spaces are available. Please indicate if needed. Staff pay for ticket price as well.     Whoo, whoo, who wants to learn about owls? Attend a nature class at Maplewood Nature Center to learn about the fascinating raptor, the owl! Those interested can even try a night hike led by a naturalist and call to the owls… they just might answer back! This class is designed for adults with disabilities, their caregivers, family, and friends. Participants must be able to attend to their own personal care needs or have a caregiver with them. Caregivers are asked to provide support and need to register at no cost. Registration/cancellation deadline: November 20

Perfect for carrying small essentials like cash, cards, and ID, this charming wallet is sure to become your new go-to accessory. This project takes some finger dexterity.   • Field Trip: Pine Tree Apple Orchard

    This activity is customized for adults with cognitive developmental disabilities. Enjoy an afternoon outdoors with us! We will enjoy a wagon ride, a little break for donut and apple cider, then we walk to the pumpkin, then visit the apple trees to pick an apple. Optional activity: Visit the corn maze for $3.00 Registration/cancellation deadline: Oct 8 Caregivers must also register, this is not a drop off event.
  • Fused glass – Decorating stars

    This class is customized for adults with cognitive disabilities. Decorate two fused glass star blanks with stringers, dots dichroic glass and other fun glass. The instructor will take them home and fuse them. Then add a wire hanger. Participants will need to make arrangements to pick up their pieces from the instructor’s home.     This activity is tailored for adults with cognitive developmental disabilities; therefore, the volume will be kept at a reasonable level. Get ready for a “ghostly” good time at the Community Bridge Halloween Dance Party! Wear your favorite costume and dance the night away as our favorite DJ, Tricia, plays “spooktacular” dance music! Get your picture taken at the photo booth, play games, win prizes, and enjoy “fang-tastic” snacks and treats! Registration/cancellation deadline: October 21st.     Join us for a fun night creating your own easy “stained glass” looking art using markers, tin foil, and a page protector. We’ll provide different design patterns for you to choose from. Then you can enjoy creating art while sipping a delicious hot chocolate drink with fun toppings. This activity is customized for adults with cognitive developmental disabilities.
  • Let’s Meet for Dinner at Pizza Ranch! (Fun White Elephant Gift Game Too!)

    Join us for a fun “white elephant” gift exchange while enjoying pizza and meeting new friends. How does the game work? You bring one or two items from home (something you already have) that you think people will enjoy or find funny. Then you wrap it up as a gift to give away! It’s sure to provide an evening of laughter, stories, and connections! Plan to come with money to pay for your own dinner at the restaurant. Cost is $16.99 for the buffet.   • Nature Wind Catchers and Mobiles

    Be a naturalist and celebrate nature by making nature sculptures out of grapevine wreaths, twigs, pinecones, pods, nuts, feathers and colorful ribbon to add a BOHO look to your gardens. Dance the night away to your favorite tunes, indulge in a wide variety of delicious snacks, and enjoy the vibrant festive decorations! Capture lasting memories in our fun-filled photo booth, complete with playful props. Dressy casual attire is encouraged—think stylish jeans or slacks paired with a button-up shirt or a chic dress.
