Adults with Disabilities Program
Create a beautiful hanging fabric collage using a technique called Slow Stitching - a relaxing form of embroidery that focuses on process rather than pattern. We'll begin by layering fabric scraps onto a 6 x 6" square and then use a variety of hand embroidery stitches as well as trims, beads, etc. to add texture and color. Whether you are a new or experienced crafter, come explore your creative side. $20 supply fee paid to instructor the first class.

Sandra Bengtson, owner of Avant Garb Fashions, was fortunate to learn how to sew by her mother at age eight. Decades later, Sandra’s passion for sewing has paved the way to fulfilling a lifelong dream; teaching others. As her mother did for her, Sandra is committed to spread her love of sewing. Sandra believes that providing a warm, inclusive classroom environment with fun and laughter, maximizes the learning experience and may even foster new friendships.
